About the Project

The Craster Memorials of the Great War, 1914 - 1918

The villages of Craster and Dunstan do not have a war memorial standing in a square or on a street corner. The men who fell in World War One are remembered on the stone monument in Spitalford Cemetery and on a tablet in St Peter the Fisherman. The men are also commemorated by the extension built on to the old reading room to provide a space for public leisure and education. This building is now known as the 'Memorial Hall'.
